Comment by taterbug:
Cool shot. Good interest factor. Great exposure/lighting. I like the tonal range in the shot. Good dof, not so much that you totally lose all detail in the distance, but enough to draw attention to the front pillars. Great detail in the tops of the columns and the arches. This is a great use of leading lines and repetition. I have to agree about the slight 'skew'. A wee bit straighter I think would give the full impact of the composition. I also agree about the oof pillar at far right, perhaps the shot could be cropped about to the top of the flat support plate of the first column, then clone out any remaining bit still hanging over, so the right edge would be all black. If necessary, the image could probably afford to lose just a little bit off the top and bottom if needed to maintain the desired aspect ratio. Very good shot, and nice job on the b/w conversion :-) I like it.

Comment by crayon:
the vidgnetting, whether natural or post-processed, is very well done. Love the details and the way light and shadow got reflected on the pillars. Good work here.

Comment by crayon:
the foot on the bottom left corner is annoying.

UPDATED: I just realized your title meant that the foot is the main subject on the composition. In that case, well, you did manage to lead the viewer's eye towards the foot, but it really does appear accidental more than planned in my opinion.

Hi! Here̢۪s a comment from the Critique Club.

First Impression:
My eyes went to the top left green tiles, black ears of kitten and then down to the cat. Green busy and distracting

Composition:
Location and expression of the cats is good.
Step tread and background overpower the cats.

Subject:
Good capture and well titled.

Technical:
DOF shallow, focus on kitten is soft.
Not sure why you used 800 ISO, main subjects, kitten and cat lack detail.
Picture not square. Slight drop from horizontal on left side.

Summary:
The capture is good, unfortunately the location worked against you.

The light is too harsh for my taste and I would love to see two pillars.

Beautiful conversion to b/w. The lighting is wonderful. I agree with the comments about a slight crop on the right.

Not sure about the foot Maybe if your model was on the ground...you could just see this leg and foot and wonder if they were alive or what.....

I really like what you are doing with your b/w images, if you get a chance could you put some editing notes in the descriptions

If only there was something interesting in the sky, like some dirty cloud. Very crisp image, great shape. Not totally sure on the center crop?
