I like the shadows, but a darker backround may have removed some of the impression of the lighting... good shot :) - jmsetzler

Perhaps if you'd stood furher back fromj the subject and introduced more negative space it would have helped. Besides I kinda like the idea that not even the photographer wanted to get too close to these shoes!
