Pencilby mscott821Comment by MrsKro: I'll bet you had a lot of comments asking where the pencil is. I think this is great....I love the idea. Could use a bit more focus and contrast for me...but I like it... 8 |

Pencilby mscott821Comment by sjgleah: nice use of b&w; like that "boston" is inverted, and shavings are partially in shadow; also like use of dof; would like to see sharpener fill less of the frame and a more head-on perspective 5 sjgleah |

Pencilby mscott821Comment by HBunch: In regards to the title, I'd have to say Yes it is! Almost did this one myself. I would like to see the color version also to compare and find out why you went with b/w. The angle is good and I like the placement in the frame. Lighting is good. The dark spot inside the pencil sharpener is a bit dark for my taste, but that's just an opinion. besides, it looks like it could have been a bit difficult to get light in there anyway. I like how I can see all the way through the pencil sharpener. I wonder how many people are going to knock this down for "not meeting the challenge?" Personally, I say it meets the challenge right on. Great job and good luck in the challenge. |

Pencilby mscott821Comment by ganders: Excellent stuff - the DOF really helps to focus the eye onto the pencil remains! One of my top pics for the week. |

Pencilby mscott821Comment by hypoStiller: Nicely framed, with good contrast. I might increase the contrast a tad, but over all, very nice! I like the variety of texture in the shavings vs. the smooth metal. |

Pencilby mscott821Comment by technogma: I'm afraid that this is the "pencil that was" Not really in keeping with the theme |
