Wow this is the way I was thinking of going myself...nothing says modern day poverty like top ramen (24 for a dollar noodles). I actually did not enter as I could not get it just right.

With poverty I think we want to depress the viewer right off. I think this would have done better if it were done in b/w with more light through out and some grain (use a high ISO to noise it up a little). Maybe actually have a pot of water on the stove coming to a boil (a little steam rising) and the noodles next to it half open and part peeking out the end of the bad.

Neat Idea just a little too bright (on pot and noodles) and colorful for poverty. I lower angle might have worked a little better as well.

I was actually trying to pull off the last Ramen (bare cuppard) on the self but it just did work out right.

did the camera go off unexpectedly on this shot? Whats the focus of this shot? Is it the coats? the hooks? the cubby holes? I have no idea. Your depth of field is also very small. once you get past the first or second coat, everything is out of focus. When youre shooting a shot like this, compose it in your viewfinder to see if you can cut out anything thats distracting. Lets say you wanted the coats to be your focus... now you have this huge spot in the top right thats distracting the subject. Get rid of it. Also, its obvious you used a flash, due to the light boards in the top left and the reflection on the coats. Try not to use the flash in this situation...

The lighting and the focus are off. Seems to be a hurried shot.

Too bad there wasn't more existing light in the room, the flash gives it a harsh quality and doesn't reach the whole picture. Nice to see a real-life shot, though.

This is just too snap-shoty for me. It's in need of a little rotation and more even lighting. But, it fits the challenge to a T, so you got the hard part right. Too bad they don't have a separate voting for the idea because you'd get a 10 then.

I'm not sure about the angle that you've taken this picture at. There's too much emphasis on the wood at the top of the picture, I'd have preferred to see more of the coats, which give colour to the image.

I'm afraid this seems just a bit too haphazard. It honestly doesn't look like a lot of effort was put into framing, lighting or focus here. Sorry...
