This photo would have been better if you had a lower aperature to put the background out of focus. I find it too cluttered, and it detracts from what you are trying to show the viewer. Otherwise, the action is very well captured.

I guess it would be a bit better if the cropping was done so that the corners of the gold part of the frame all touched the edges of the picture itself, at the same point.

This photo is interesting on its own, but the impact of what you have presented here is not photographic in nature. Overall, the artwork is excellent, but it could possibly suffer here at DPC since the 'photograph' is of higher interest than the impact created by post processing. As I look at what I see here, I believe that the original photo would probably be a better presentation for the challenge.
