This is an O.K. shot. Well focused and framed, but overly dark, especially the center of the flower. This is often the case, when your background is very light and foreground is dark, the camera guesses badly. I think the petals turned out very well and if that were all that were in the frame, your score would be higher. Had enough? 6 Swash

For texture I think this should be showing the actual texture of the leaves and center. I'd like to see this close up. However, I think it's a good sunflower shot.

sunflower is a good subject for this challenge. i think you could have done more to bring out the texture by zooming in closer (the leaves at the bottom are distracting), maybe even show only part of the flower if your camera allows you to get that close. also play with the brightness and contrast, if you increase both a bit a lot more of the texture and detail in the middle of the flower (not sure what that's called - darn english as a 2nd language thing) becomes visible. -- gr8photos (4)

This is really cool. The petals look like they are painted on. I would have cropped out the leaves on bottom making space at top larger, but that's my personal opinion. cthenk
