I really like the concept of this shot! Makes a strong statement. Something about the setting, not sure what, really appeals to me also. Maybe your editing? Maybe the weeds and stuff? Not sure, but I like it. How much post processing have you done to it? A possible idea for improvement: try to brighten or lighten up the area where the tire and stuff is, so it shows a little stronger, and at the same time make the bird pop more? Nice shot.

This was one of my favorites of the competition. I love the color and hte compostion. I can't believe it ended up down here. What is wrong with these DPC voters? Keep up the good work.

Looks like the red channel blew its highlights a bit, and some detail was lost in the flower's center. These can be very tough to photograph and retain 100% detail in, especially given the toneality range in this shot which definitely exceeds most digicams. A nice composition though, and I like the petals fading into shadow.
