Red 139by JakComment by Jak: Thanks for the crit, mag; I appreciate it.
I wanted to shoot it straight, but there was a physical limitation (a small wall) that got in the way. This was as straight as I could make it.
I did a USM before saving, yes. The jagged lines are a jpeg artifact,I guess, as they are clear and precise on the full resolution TIF. |

Composition: Excellent. The repetition of the vertical elements is unusual and original. Color choices in post processing worked very well. I think it would have been more effective shooting perpendicular though, instead of at an angle.
Technical: a little soft. Some weird jaggeding ofr the powerlines. I wonder if a smaller aperature would have helped. Did you sharpen at all in post-processing? Things to think about..
Nice shot :) |

Red 139by JakComment by lisae: Cool effect. I like the mood of this photo. Gritty and urban. The power lines have become a bit jaggy from resizing. Sometimes it can help to blur the photo by one or two pixels before you resize/resample it. |

Red 139by JakComment by inspzil: This pic needs to be squared up. Red doors are okay. The picture needs a little more of a focal point IMO. - Inspzil |

Red 139by JakComment by Morgan: I simply love RED, so you win. It is a great image and I feel that it works so well because of the contrast between the red and the grey found in the balance the frame. There is a bit of perspective error, but how do you correct it without a perspective control lens that most DPC members would not have or even be able to use. My pick of the week. Great job - 9 |
