I get cold just looking at this. The detail in the snow crystals is brilliant. The composition as a whole doesn't work as well for me. I am not sure why. I like the framing and the cropping. I think it is that the colors are a bit too much like flesh and internal organs for me. It looks a bit like raw chicken meat and such.

Donna,

From my personal experience on DPC, going purely on what scores well and what doesn't, I can definitely say you went a little far on the neat image. Now that's just from a voter's standpoint. You do have your artistic prerogative to do as you wish. I think the smoothness looks out of place given that the pumpkins are really the only objects with the extreme smoothness. One suggestion would be to download the new version of NeatImage. It has a new feature that automatically picks the best area to sample the grain for removal.

As for the rest of the image, I think it's decent overall. The leaves are a tad distracting. One other suggestion that I think would help a lot is a tighter crop on the left side to start the left side of the frame with the wooden post. It gives a reference point and wouldn't just be floating out in the middle of the picture. Hope this was helpful. Have a nice day.

The neat image used here gives a silk like finish on the pumpkins which I feel adds greatly to this image. I would query the use of a ikonic image of 31st October - in the form of a pumpkin, as a shot for November. It would not be my obvious choice. I still love the image though.

I find this to be a very pleasing composiiton overall. The only thing that bothers me is that the pumpkins look too smooth; the lines have disappeared. Not sure if this is due to over-exposure or NeatImage, or what.

Excellent callendar shot with good seasonal depiciton. I'm curious, did you wait for the sun to be in the perfect position or set up multiple flashes in low light? The cropping is perfect imo. 7.
