Trescott Street Pierby bmartuchComment by mist: One of those odd shots where there is not too much to comment about. Surprised it didn't pick up a slightly higher score really. Would have been fine for the symmetry challenge I expect or the vanishing point. You could even do a re-shoot in a moody night sky. |

Trescott Street Pierby bmartuchComment by silverfoxx: I think it can look fantastic in b&w!
absolutely wonderful composition, with the lines and the lamps "breaking" the straight lines.
I also wonderful how the same place would look like in vertical frame? though the horisontal one helps the sea lines to stand out.
I really love the centered comp here, very well balanced picture. |

Trescott Street Pierby bmartuchComment by Melethia: First off, this would be great for vanishing point. :-) I like center compositions like this - they kinda break the rules and in this case I think it works well. I can't really say there's anything I'd change about it, other than I agree it might also work well in B&W. |

Trescott Street Pierby bmartuchComment by noraneko: Hi Bob, sorry I didn't comment on this earlier. First, you got a fave, which is awesome! Second, what a bummer you took this before the vanishing point challenge came up :-)
Seriously, I think this is quite well done, especially the DOF. I didn't reach it while voting, but would have given it quite a decent score. I'd love to see just a little more brightness in the front area - the decking brought out a tad.
Great entry! |

Trescott Street Pierby bmartuchComment by skewsme: I remember this shot from voting. Dang, it would have been perfect for vanishing point, or symmetry as Jayson mentions. Great perspective - I think you hit it just right. I like it as is, but I also wonder about fooling with the color or smoothness. I'm not sure how, but maybe some kind of inversion... just for kicks. Also, I am wondering about cropping the sides a little to make it more like tunnel vision. But that might make it too generic/simplistic...? Great shot and great location, and a very decent score for a big, gawdy free study :) |

Trescott Street Pierby bmartuchComment by Wildcard: Wow this is just gorgeous, perfect symmetry and I love the colours the blue railings are perfect and the timber decking ties in the colour of the beach, Beautiful beautiful. |

Dueling it out in the 800 metersby bmartuchComment by hotpasta: I like this...the depth of field is nice, but I think the conversion to duotone might have washed out the exposure a tad. Perhaps a boost in levels would have lifted the contrast to cover for this... |
