I imagine you'll get a lot of negative comments/votes on this, but I think it's an interesting concept and works well with the challenge. The house on the left and negative space above the subject take away from the image. I would suggest postioning your subject higher and more to the left and allowing the fence to lead your eye into the image and rest on the subject.

I wonder why this scored so low! Voters are very strange these days. I love the background light and I think the noise is perfect for the old-time feel of the pic. The dark circles under his eyes kind of wig me out lol.
