10 - Antonioby BudComment by twmax: I think this is one of the better portraits I've seen in a long time. This is just a perfect photo for black and white, and I like your conversion a lot. Just a thought, but it seems like portraits are for the young and beautiful, or for those people with a lot of "character." |

10 - Antonioby BudComment by trevytrev: Great texture and detail for a portrait, a great subject for sure. I do find the b&w version a bit darker and would like to see his face a bit lighter and maybe burn the bright spot down a tid bit. I think the focus and DOF are spot on though and a nicely done portrait, well done. |

Looking Down the Upstairsby BudComment by chromeydome: I like the composition and the image. It might be worth tweeking it just a bit away from the tungsten lighting orange cast -- not all the way to "perfect" white balance, as that might be too cold, but so that the warmth of tone comes more from the wood. A small localized burn of the bright highlight in the upper left might also help, as it tends to pull the viewer's eye over there. I really like all the shadows, lines, shapes and forms here. For this challenge, the subtle "peeking" is good--if you have ready access to this location, one of these with no face might be worth it, too. |

10 - Antonioby BudComment by SandyP: Oh man! Antonio has a WONDERFUL face to photograph. So much character. So handsome with all his deep eyes kind smile. The lines and chiseled features enhance his look even more. The only thing I would have done differently is try to get more light on his face, maybe with a levels or curves layer on just the face so the background is over lightened?
I think its an awesome portrait. My favorite kind to try to shoot.
