Feet are such an interesting part of the body. I like how you have to hold the babies foot steady. hehehe..

Looking forward to seeing all of your right feet next week. :-) Great idea, nifty photo. However, top of photo is a little busy and detracts from the feet. Perhaps another blanket at the top would help.

That's a cute shot. I think a straight B&W would be far better than sepia in this case.

Awesome :)

This is about the essence and not techicalities. Very uniq image of a "family portrait". The little foot at the top is a nice touch.

Wonderful portrait. But since you asked for critical comments. I'm missing 'catchlights' in his eyes.

I may have also been tempted to slightly dodge his around his right eye - particularly under the brow.

But honestly I could care less - it's just WONDERFUL!

I flipped between this version and your FS, and while the FS has very little color in it, it does seem to have a bit more depth and warmth to it. The basic elements - the comp, the subject's smile - those all work in both shots. Maybe try a duotone - actually a tritone - with warm grays to see if you get some of that depth back. Or just leave it the way it was for the free study. That worked just fine in my opinion.

i wonder if this b/w would have scored higher in the free study than the colour version?
either way, you were robbed only getting a six.
this really is a great portrait.
