Stillnessby BudComment by arngrimur: Very good viewpoint. Interesting subject and good composition. Somehow I would like to see a a bit more underexposed image. |

Stick & Adobeby BudComment by autool: Great subject. I wonder if your angle of approach could have been different to give it more power/impact. Probably out of the box for DPC folks. 8 |

Stick & Adobeby BudComment by ubique: A very interesting subject, but I think your treatment of it is more revealing of its construction than its architecture. But a nice enough photo. 5 |

Red Leafby BudComment by Gaia: NIce job on this photo. I think that it is harder to get an interesting shot with both front and back bokeh. I think you did well. The front "out of focus" leaf points directly to the in focus leaf. LOL. I laugh because this picture is a direct contrast with my picture for this challenge! We had ice covering EVERYTHING where I live. I'd rather have your weather! |

Stillnessby BudComment by e301: There are strong elements of a classic stock image here - the boats on still water is an image I think we have all seen on occasions and to that extent part of our mental furniture - and that places particularly high standards for such a shot tot meet: after all, you're competeing with images in people's memories, rather than referencible images. This, I think, misses the absolutel simplicity - that branch, the perfect organisation of composition that half hidden boat, their organisation across frame, and lacks drama in the background - which you have nevertheless included. I wonder if perhaps a more powerful image might have been found within this scene, rather than in the entirety of it? The boat with the superstructure and it's neighbour look promising ... but it certainly has potential. Have you tried simply cropping out the boats to the right? It would, i think, be much stronger compositionally. Just some thoughts. |

Stick & Adobeby BudComment by Louison: Must be hot in there: no insulation in the roof! Cool little house or building. Nice angle. |

Red Leafby BudComment by Bud: Thanks for all the comments... This shot was partly due to my misunderstanding of the challenge... I thought it stated "out of focus foreground and background...", not "or". So, that explains a bit. Message edited by author 2005-01-17 03:03:16. |
