Ant's Nightmareby owenComment by LalliSig: Nice idea and pretty well executed, I think I would have liked it slightly more if the proportions were more 50/50, I mean the sole the left 50% of the frame and the person the right 50% of the frame. One of the better shots in the challenge, mainly because of orignality and I gave it a 7. |

Ant's Nightmareby owenComment by RonBeam: ... perhaps, but right before the ant dies, they get to see a great abstract! This is possibly not going to win a ribbon on this site where "calendar shots" usually dominate the winning, but this is as intriguing a minimal abstract as I have seen for a long time. The framing is bold, creative and perfectly conveys the purpose of the shot. No wasted linear motion in this piece, no "busy" areas. The minority area's inclusion of the out of focus chin line reassures us that the owner of this shoe is innocent of his crime. He's not aware he is about to kill a living thing. Even the lens flare top right suggests a point that has the attention of our traveller. The band of splashy blue sky is the real treat for me, however. Without that solid chunk to lift the right side away from the left, the shot is less than what it is .... one of my top ten favorites for this week's challenge. 9. |

Ant's Nightmareby owenComment by greigner: great angle - way to include the individual - really brings perspective better than just the bottom of the shoe. |
