Edith, the Train's Done Gawnby SkipComment by LindaLee: This one I like very much!! I love the perspective on the tracks, and the whole setting gives a feeling of mystery. I adore the fogginess (ala zeuszen!). |

Polly's First Kissby SkipComment by LindaLee: EEEK, I even hate to review this, because I cannot be entirely fair to you. I STRONGLY dislike photos with plastic toys, and have a difficult time evaluating them for any other good points. However, if that is a real dragonfly, it's quite a nice shot of him! |

Until I Turn Blue (Revisited)by SkipComment by LindaLee: I like the offset angled composition, and the reflections of light in the water, but other than that, this particular photo does not have a lot of impact for me. |

Morning Dewby SkipComment by LindaLee: Even in thumbnail, this one stood out. Looking at it now, I have to say that I love the intention, the composition, the focus, but lighting keeps this from having serious impact. The white petals have so much shadowing on them that the water droplets appear, at times, to be "bumps" or "growths" on the petals. I would love to see this with more dramatic lighting, I think it could be breathtaking. |

Celebrating Sunset, Jockeys Ridge (original portfolio image)by SkipComment by LindaLee: I like this photo very much. The color is lovely and memorable, and the kids look like they are just having a great time. Though the composition works for me, the horizon appears ever so slightly tilted, and the little boy's one-legged look is a little odd. I could also see this cropped in portrait mode, though it would cut out the sun breaking through, which, for me, seems to give the shot some balance. |

Just a wee-bit Closer...by SkipComment by LindaLee: Great perspective, and interesting subject, but background is very distracting to me. The color on the top portion of his body is SO close to the background color that there is just not enough tonal range to really make him stand out, or for the photo to really have impact. |

Polly's First Kissby SkipComment by debitipton: How on earth did you get this shot?
Might lighten the green in the background to give it a bit more contrast, but otherwise it's perfect. |

Celebrating Sunset, Jockeys Ridge (original portfolio image)by SkipComment by debitipton: Awesome colors!
The photo feels like it is slightly tipped to the right. I don't know if it's my eye or the weight of the kids on the right side. I wish Beau's leg was in view avoiding the stork look but timing is everything. They appear to be having a great time.
Just wondering -- how would look as a vertical crop with the kids closer to the edge?

Just a wee-bit Closer...by SkipComment by debitipton: I like this guy's expression -- quite the deceptive smile. The background has a lot of noise which is distracting. Try going into the selective color and adjusting the gray and black to see if it might reduce some of it or at least make it less noticeable. I might try messing with the contrast as well. -- see if raising it might make the croc pop a little more. Right now he's well blended which is want he wants to protect himself but you need him to stand out a bit. I like the crop -- I like that he's looking down on you. It give the photo a feeling of how powerful he is. |
