I too feel the dark band at the top is essential in providing a balance to the central dark band and the bird itself. Great use of space and colour - a very strong silhouette/ wildlife shot.

Great composition and great use of motion and colour.
I'd use the clone tool on that white area at the top left corner that xion refers to and possibly use it on the white bits at the bottom right corner too - I'd clone part in black and part in blue to make that black support extend straight out to the edge of the frame.

This is a great shot strengthened by the lighting and colour cast. I'd personally crop out the entire left side to lose that row of bright white lights and maintain focus on your subject.

Wonderful capture of emotion - very strong. Although the area to the right gives context I think I'd still choose to crop it out and reduce the distracting detail it inserts. Just her, her pink top and the pink car she's in would be a stronger crop for me.

I like the unusual perspective and the way there is movement in his legs but his upper body and face is sharp.

Good idea to include foreground silhouettes but the impact is severely reduced by the fact that the taller grass in particular merges into the darker areas of the sky. I also wonder whether portrait would work better for this shot given there are only two blades of grass.

Lovely streak of red and some nice silhouette shapes but for me the interaction between these two elements doesn't produce a strong composition. They don't interact in a dynamic way. Composition doesn't feel balanced to me.

The kind of scene that is so stunning in person that it's hard to appreciate that it will result in a kind of ho-hum image. Whilst you have a reasonable composition (with vague foreground interest, a strong horizon, nice clouds and colours) there just isn't sufficient focal point/ impact here to hold the attention.

Image quality seems a little low?
Interesting image with some great colours in the sky and a rickety pier to provide a focal point but doesn't have enough enough of a punch in terms of composition/ balance/ content to make me shou WOW!

This is one of the best profiles I"ve seen in a challenge. The colours from the light are beautiful. You've relaly capured expression here. I'm not sure that it speaks to the poverty theme though - maybe if there was a little bit more of a background (something looking impoverished in the background) or something that shows what teh person is wearing. The face itself does not look "poverty' to me. HOwever, really beautiful (actually, stunning) image. 9
