Nice portrait subtle soft focus works well, just wish the hair wasn̢۪t cropped at the top.

I love the two faces here. They are beautiful. The picture tells a story of contentment and love. The soft focus adds to that well. Wish the woman's hand and arm were visible coming around the little girl on the couch - it would pull the composition together and add to the "story." The line in the wall behind in distracting too - is it a curtain that could have been moved?

The soft focus is good without going over the top, it sets up a nice atmosphere and mood, which is also helped by the golden light coming from behing them. The only things I dont really care for are things that can not be controlled in such a candid shot like this, such as the pacficier/dummy and the either cropped out hand or the uncropped finger. It's good to see that your choice of subject CAN be something more than just a snapshot. Nice image.

This is a very sweet image, trusting and loving. The lighting, colors, and contrats (both in age and in texture) are also very pleasing.

Nice shot, great colors. I don't like that moms head it cropped so tight. Other then that this is very nice. The light is spectacular.

Firstly I admit my ignorance at not knowing what these items are. They look like strange light bulbs. I do know the saying and so I'm going to assume there is a link rather than vote you down for my ignorance. The mix of colors is interesting, it all looks fairly sharp, although I get a feeling of it being fairly cluttered. I dont know if these are singular items put together in a group of three or whether they are all connected, but my eyes are not sure on what part to look at. You have them dead center with some negative space above it. I'm not sure if the top black area was really needed. A close crop at the top to fill the frame may have helped more because of the tight crop at the bottom, giving it a slight symmetry. It's not a wow shot to me, but it is certainly interesting.

I like you interpretation of this challenge. I am just afraid that many of the people voting won't have any idea what a vacuum tube is (or was).
