Let Me Explainby dahlinComment by spiritualspatula: The shadows you noted are there, no doubt, but because the overall exposure of the wall is pretty low, they aren't horribly noticeable. You could always smudge them out in a fan pattern if they really worry you that much, but it's nice as is. A great moment captured, surely one to look back on later and haunt your daughter with. |

I Don't Want to Clean Upby dahlinComment by spiritualspatula: A little more blur on the background would've been nice, since it's so cluttered in the back, because it distracts from the obvious focal point of the photo, but very nice timing. This would, of course, somewhat necessitate a different caption. I could also see this one looking great in BW- the tones on her face look perfect for it. A great capture in any case- that expression is excellent. Message edited by author 2011-02-13 04:24:39. |

Let Me Explainby dahlinComment by LandzEnca: Great photo. I like the strong blacks and overall contrast. Such a cute model you have. Contrary to what you think, I think you did great in controlling the shadows and light. |

Little Twirling Ballerinaby dahlinComment by sjhuls: I remember your challenge entry. I think this is fun, but I think you made the right choice. She is fantastic but your right the tree should be in focus to make it a great shot. Love photos like this though because it gives you so much to think about. |

An Autumn Breezeby dahlinComment by sjhuls: Your B&W photos always look great. Do you use special software for it? I just uploaded the free trial of silver efex pro it is great but sooo expensive. |

I Don't Want to Clean Upby dahlinComment by CNovack: Hoho-whoah! Look at the pouty annoyed look on her face! Great shot of this little girl staring you down:-) The glittery headband takes on the aspect of a tiara as this little princess declares that she will NOT pick up after the mess seen in the background. As you said she was all giggles after but you definitely caught a moment of defiance;-) Kudos to you for capturing a great expression and one that the backdrop plays well into. |

Following Shadowsby dahlinComment by CNovack: Absolutely love the leading lines the way the light plays upon the scene. B&W was a great choice for it really lets the way the light plays on the path, the pillars, and the leaves shine through. It also lets the shadows along the path pop visually. |

Classic New Yorkby dahlinComment by CNovack: Love the details on the skyscrapers in the foreground - and love how you have the seascape/bay included in the backdrop to the far right and left. You have great dynamic B&W tones that really pop visually. |
