The lighting and focus on your subject is really good, but the background fence is a bit of a distraction. The crop used, head only, does not lend to a portrait feeling which might hurt you for this challenge. So, another approach might be a more shallow depth of field. to better blur the background, and a crop to include more shoulders and torso.

Sorry I really don't understand how this fits in the challenge. Image seems to have a lot of noise/grain in it.

Photography is many things, maybe, but a portrait's a portrait and this one is most remarkable for the way in which the camera and the subject seem to have come to an agreement - made a deal - and it's a good one.
