Proud Historyby NodeComment by digitalknight: really nice exposure on the building, would Advance Edit let you replace the sky? I'm kind of new here, so I don't have all the rules down yet.
Great perspective, I really like it. |

Proud Historyby NodeComment by rich: I love the architecture but the sky is so unnatural and blown out I find it distracting. The colors in the building are fabulous though. |

Clouded reflectionby NodeComment by dsa157: a bit dark in the foreground. I like the mast silouettes, but would have like a little more detail in the boat hulls. |

Clouded reflectionby NodeComment by snackwells: I love the saturation in this photograph. Especially the golden rays of sunlight meld into the turquoise of the sky. Capturing the sun face on is quite a challenge and in this case it resulted in a rather subdued mood. Effectively silhouettes the foreground. Minor notes: some harsh noise amid the clouds and the masts. |

Heliconiaby NodeComment by dr rick: Greetings from the Critique Club!
The bright light here makes a challenging scene for photography, with a very wide dynamic range. But the exposure and postprocessing has risen to the challenge and portrayed it very well. A polarizer might have helped avoid the glare that appears in a couple of spots, but a shade to block the bright direct light, leaving the subject illuminated by indirect light would have probably been even better.
The bokeh is very nice, except for the burned out area at the top left, which I find distracting. A closer crop would both eliminate that and strengthen the overall composition by focusing attention on the flower. Focus and color are great, as is the shooting angle. |
