I agree with you that this is an underrated shot. I would expect it to score in the mid to high 5's for a couple reasons.
1.) It's not very sharp, was that your intention?
and 2.) The colors don't really pop out.

The lighting, moment, expression, and feeling of the image is excellent, just a few technicals are holding it back. Another thing is that piece of paper(?) on the bottom right distracts from everything else. This is a great concept that can go very far. Maybe try a little more post processing with it and see what you can get.

A cleaner background (less elements like the picture frames to the left and plant to the right) would definatly help out a shot like this.

beautiful butterfly. nice reaction.

Shot looks overprocessed, soften that sharpening a bit... additionally, the background is No Good. DOF is too great... try taking the greens in the hue/saturation and shifting lightness to 0.

try boosting saturation gently on the blues on the butterfly.

needs more even lighting if you want to move this beyond the realm of 'snapshot'... the shadows are black, where they should merely be shadows. On the other hand, the highlights on the shirt are blown.

seems there is a fair bit of noise too I'm afraid...

that bit of writing in the back is pretty unfortunate too...

Interesting capture. I think you could crop vertically and eliminate the tree and stuff on the right and get a cleaner more obvious picture, though. I find myself looking at the tree to see if someone is modeling for her.

I dunno. This should be really cool, but it's not wowing me. I can't figure out why.

I like the way you have cropped this. I think this would be better without the desaturation.

I like idea and the composition. The lighting is just a little bright.

My husband is a home roaster so we have hundreds of pounds of green beans at our house.
