Great shot! I really like the position of all of the elements of this photo. It's very appealing to the eye. I think this would be better if it weren't quite so dark, but it's still a great shot. (And you have to love the expression on this guy's face!)

Returning for additional comments: The one thing that bothers me is that this wouldn't usually be a natural position for an American toad - being terrestrial in nature. Did you find him like this, and if not how did you get him to stay there? The way the belly skin is up over the wood suggests that it was placed there from above. I still like the photo though and am giving it a 10

great capture. one of my top picks for the challenge. i think i would like it more if the closer, blurry piece of wood was cropped out (i think losing that would not take away from the image).
