I can see where the guess might come from, and I am going to be one of your 6's. Yes the background is a bit boring and doesn't really help your subject pop. But the color and detail on the squirrel is really fabulous I think.

I bet you are close. Cute subject, but the sharpening is a bit harsh to try to make up for softness.
