River bank is tilted - did you intend that? It needs something else - maybe more of the river? I do like the sharpness of the water against the softness of the snow.

Congrats on a top 20, Ernie! (Or Bob, or Bruce, or Barbara - whoever you are...) This is a delightfully cute shot and you definitely connected with a good faction of the voting audience - your commenter average (along with the very good finish) tells you that. There's a bit of blue fringing around the bird (ask someone who knows better to tell you why) but the focus is dead on and the bokeh supports this well composed shot nicely.
