Wow!! At first I didn't really think this met the challenge at all. Then I started thinking about the interesting green all over that one tree and how it contrasted with the others.... And then I realized that everything in the background and foreground has - not biologically maybe, but visually - died, while the one tree that is the subject is alive, vibrant, young. It used to live in a forest that was young, but it got uprooted and transplanted to this very old "barren wasteland". That definitely meets the challenge for me. Well done.
