TIMEby graphicfunkComment by GeneralE: The 35mm camera in the background looks kind of familiar ... I'd like to know what it is eventually. |

Banana Republic Authorityby graphicfunkComment by Skip: while i get what you're after (result of authority being applied, as opposed to actually showing authority), i don't think that was the intent of the challenge. that aside, the image is fine. bw gives the image a lot of strength, lighting and focus are on, general composition works well.
not sure how you set up the shot, but i would say that if you went to much trouble to capture the image, i wish you would have gone a little further and included an authority figure in the image. from a scoring standpoint, outside-the-box images usually don't do that well without a real, real strong tie to the challenge. with this image, i'll be surprised if the voters in general will be that generous. good luck! |

Bang! -- Sore Loserby graphicfunkComment by Imagineer: I always meant to comment on this. It's excellent - very competently shot and a superb answer to the brief. The only thing missing from it is a ribbon! |

TIMEby graphicfunkComment by e301: Interesting approach. The composition is very cluttered - so many different things, and they seem almost haphazardly organised. Light reasonably effective on the digicam, but becomes very weak and flat in the background areas - actually has a feel of the muted tones of an old photograph, which does have an effect. The clock feels forced into the composition (to emphasise meeting the challenge, perhaps?), where something along the lines of a calendar might have been more effective? Your biggest problem in terms of dpc score, however, is certainly the very busy composition, and fairly common idea. Good luck. |

Banana Republic Authorityby graphicfunkComment by KDO: Great concept and clever title. The image rings false in that the clothes are too clean and the tears in the shirt too fresh. Pay attention to those details so that your work transcends and becomes real, not staged. Again, great premise, nice use of light and shadow. |

There is nothing better then a creative shot. I prefer the ones that are strait out of the box :) This is one of them.
I am realy realy suprised this shot came out 186! Come on people can't you apreciate novelty and creativity? I wonder who gave this shot a 1!!! Maybe he could justify his judgement?
Any way congrats on this incredible shot and creativity! |
