thank you for all of your comments. this pic was made with an $11 fiber optic lamp from Spencer's Gifts. the lower right-hand corner is the masking tape that holds the strands together. i kept this in the pic because it made it look like the strands were coming out of a conduit. the lower right side was out of focus on purpose to give an effect of data coming out of the conduit and exploding. this could have been entered in the macro contest, since it was shot with a macro lens, only a few inches away. the upper portion was only there since the rules state the dimensions of each picture.

Kind of a cool shot, I like the color against the black neg spc background. Personal preference - I would have cropped a lot of the lower right corner area out, and focused more on the upper half of the fiber optic strands. lhall

the negative space on the top is not adding to this photo.... and the black corner in the lower right should be eliminated by cropping as well.
cool idea! looks like stars in the galaxy! definately fiber optics are the root of the current technology.. good for you for doing it! I think a little different angle would help this out.

I don't know what technology this is but it is beautiful, absolutely beautiful. I gotta know how you accomplished this. Should have cropped a little more off the top - that little empty space adds nothing. Great colors, good subject, great compotision. Really great pic for an 8. PTL
