Thank you all for you honest comments. Well what can I say, I blew it by not including the year in the title. I'm planing on competing more often and was in a too mutch of a hurry on this one. Lets hope I will be able to read more efficeance after this :)

The photo is kind of neat. A really good advertisement for the Adidias company. The size of the shoe doesn't come across to me as being a child's shoe. This could just as easily be an adult shoe. Overall, I feel this is missing the mark in trying to "depict an era in time." Sorry if I'm being thick headed on this.

Let's imagine that future generations pull out our time capsule. In going through the images they come across this one. They look at the title and think "childhood, certainly not my childhood" I wish I knew the year you were trying to capture. It would have gotten a higher score from me. If your image doesn't finish as high as you had hoped it is probably because other voters felt the same way (unless they comment otherwise). Overall great composition. Like the B&W and lighting. Good Depth of Field. Like that the picture is not on a level plane. Good Luck.
