Hay, thats nice!by MartinComment by Gracious: Critique Club comment by Grayce M. Dillon aka Gracious
Although this is a very familiar scene to me, having lived many years in rural upstate New York, it has a surrealistic quality to it.
There are many hay rolls, yet it is a simple composition and very appealing.
The coloring and subtle shading is fantastic. It is sharpened to the point of bringing the texture out in the field beautifully.
I can see the point some have made about the glare in the upper corner perhaps being distracting. BUT....it sort of adds a little heat to the image...making it even more surrealistic.
I like it...this is very artsy. Keep up the good work!!!
Regards,
Grayce |

Hay, thats nice!by MartinComment by Annida: Lovely subject, and lovely vibrant colours. My one biggest gripe is with the left hand corner at the top. I think maybe it is a bit over exposed, and the rays of the sun make the colours on the left hand side quite faint. -Annida |

Hay, thats nice!by MartinComment by joanns: Where does one find hay like this. I love the beautiful, golden sheen that comes from these rolled bales. Excellent lighting, color and compositon. |
