Fun shot. My suggestion would be to have eliminated the background, the wood line in the wall and the dark curve on the left distract from the main subject (as small distractions as these seem, they affect the overall impact.) You might have even cropped the left side to eliminate the background and her hand, and it might have been a bit stronger without any other manips.

Not sure why this shot needed validation. Oh well. I really like this. I'm trying to get into children photography at the moment and it's tough work. You've captured a beautiful moment and eveything works. I like that the colors are overall realtively muted and almost tone in tone (not really, but there's nothing that jumps out) and just the eyes as a contrast. Have you contemplated giving them just a tad more of a color boost? I'd also be interested to see this as a high-key with just the blue eyes and the rest b&w. This is one of the shots that works in many different ways and just invites playing around in photoshop I think. Godd work :)
