Very nice! Not sure I'm liking the weeds in the way there... JMO though. ;-) Pity the sky wasn't blue, but still striking colours with good water reflection so -- 7

White sky is a bit uninteresting. Dawn or dusk would have been a better moment. Not sure about portrait orientation either.

This would have been far better if you had increased the contrast a bit to bring out the colors more.

This photo is a good idea but i think it would have looked better if the child was composed slightly off center and some of the top had been cropped. The colors are a little dull.

This looks like a family album snapshot.

This feels more like a snapshot than a challenge entry. Shooting this from a lower angle and with the kid either standing tall in the foreground or running toward the far side of the fence would have improved the image.

Greetings from the Critique Club

For starters I had to look close but yes there is grain so it meets the challenge.

As for the capture and subject I commend you for such a nice shot.

I will admit my first impression was that the fawns legs glow like an xray. Those legs are just over processed and it hurts the overall image emensly. The glow difuser you used was just to strong for the white legs of the animal.

I think you would have done much better to have just went black and white and added some grain to it as the processing was too much.

I do hope though to see more from you in the future.

I don't know what post-processing you used, but for me, this is a soft photo, especially with the glow and luminescent white around the legs - almost the opposite of how I'm looking at the grain challenge. Nice photo and composition, but for me doesn't meet the challenge criteria as well as other entries.

It's lucky that you caught this image! Parts of it seem very overexposed on my monitor.
