Just my opinion but I think for photos like this, the lighting needs to be really dramatic in order to transform a mundane subject into an attractive image.

I like the take on this; I think it might be improved as a composition with a lesser crop and the bench not perfectly centered.

If selective desaturation was used, I would've desaturated the grass as well. Cropped a bit too tightly on the sides and top of bench appears slanted.
