I definately understand the something new, and having a very young son myself, I can definately relate to the happiness. It is a very touching "aww" photo. However, either a lot was lost in the upload, or it's quite out of focus. The bottom of the photo appears really really bright. Great way to meet the challenge. Good luck!!

must be very personal shot but the image quality is just bad, sorry. Maybe you should have tried not blowing the image up but framing it and taking a shot of that?

I can't think of any nice way around it; this photo is horrible. It almost looks like it was scanned, not taken with a digital camera. The compression artifacts are VERY destracting.

It migt have a more "peaceful" feel with less contrast (esp. highlights) and less sharpening. But maybe that's not the feeling you wanted...
