Main problem for me on this one is not the slightly shallow depth of field but the plane of focus - which bits you've chosen to focus on. The nearside whiskers and the mouth are out of focus and yet are part of the more interesting elements of the image. I like the range of dark and light backgrounds - the light bit emphasises the shape of the cat, the dark bit shows off the whiskers that are more in focus. That said overall it feels quite dark.

This is great... and I don't even like cats in the least bit. My only problem is that your DOF needs some adjustment. The cats face should be completely in focus IMO.

I like the lighting and DOF used here. I also believe the border really adds to it by echoing the highlights in the picture.

While I like this image alot, I'm having a hard time seeing your focal point. I think perhaps you should have made the foremost leaf (the red one near the top left side) be in focus with all the others in the background lost in the shallow DOF.
