Strong, unpleasant memory. Another photo used this same concept with a "father figure", it seems to me that is would be a helpful element. I think if I were to suggest the best set up of this concept, it would be something like this: A broken jar in the foreground, with adult male legs and a belt hangning down beside him. This would tell a more complete story than just the belt, you know cause and effect sort of thing. As for the photo itself, it is very stark (bare) and the belt buckle doesn't come across very clearly. 6 Swash

Not only the belt, but the reference to a snake, makes this image, for chidhood, a severe one, but it is technically very good, and artistically very aesthetic.

In my personal opinion, there is way too much white space in this photo. The belt itself is done well, but gets lost to easily in all that room.

love the high key shot. a little overblown for my taste, although it looks purposeful. love the neg space. something seems a litlte static in this shot, though...

Nice work thinking of this one. Though I was a spanked child and I turned out okay, I never use a belt on my own. Nice job!

This is really neat but I wish you could have used up more of the empty space with a closer look at the belt. 7.

I personally would've used a black background to show the darkness of the message. Still, i feel yer pain :)
