Yes, sir!by stephanComment by lmhr: I think we were shocked to see a strong image like this were we thought we will only find nice kiddie images. That said, I think this is a very strong photo that diserve much more. And the ¨"snake" form, intentional or not, it's there. Great shot. LM |

Yes, sir!by stephanComment by stephan: Regarding the title: I recently saw a film where a boy had to say "Sir" to his father and I found that really weird. I didn't chose it to explain the photo. I think the photo is understandable without it (when you know the challenge). In retrospective I agree that the photo has a flaw and many commented on that. Despite I wanted it to be simplistic and only portray the belt as a symbol, I agree that the emotion it suggests is not conveyed. It's too bright and the yellow/orange colour is too nice. It's not that I now dislike the photo. It's again almost exactly how I had it in mind and how I wanted to make it. I wanted to experiment with negative space and I liked the colour. But I should have put more effort into trying to convey the theme than experimenting with the techinque ;-) To GeneralE: I didn't intentionally put the belt like a snake. I'm an atheist and to me a snake is not a symbol of evil. But your idea with the hand is good. Thanks again for your comments. |

Yes, sir!by stephanComment by Konador: The colours are a bit too blown out in bright areas, and without the title I wouldn't have seen how it fits with the challenge. |

Yes, sir!by stephanComment by Martin: Excellent. The contrast is spot on, the composition is very good. This picture really gives out the right mood. Well Done. 8-Martin |

Yes, sir!by stephanComment by Kavey: Nice composition, though belt seems just a little too small within the overall frame and slightly too orangey. 8, Kavey |
