Not the best capture of an expression! And you cropped out the critical part of the olympic flame! A higher shot including the flame would have been much more dramatic, and possibly a narrower depth of field - the background is distracting. (Depth of field is controlled through apeture - try a larger apeture like f2 or f4 next time - and let the camera adjust the shutter speed accordingly. most cameras let you do this in AV (apeture priority) mode).

This photo doesn't support the headline (which BTW, should read '...Begins...'not '...Starts...'). Where's the torch? Is it that thing in front of the guy? Is he carrying it or is he just an onlooker? Why is that camera in the shot? This phot is more about this guy's reaction to something then anything else. It is too personal for the story it is meant to support.

Hmm, for a newspaper, there's too much focus on the person. For your head title, there should atleast a picture of the flame. Ligting is a bit dull also. Maybe if you used a fill flash you would get a much better photo.
