I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: What an extraordinarily evocative image. The deep reds, the yellow of the flames - not enough to dispel a sense of coldness though. The figures, full of interest - I want to know what their stories are. Her hair blown across her face and the deep shadowing makes for a great deal of drama and the young fellow laughing in what seems like mockery to me. All very, very interesting.

Critical stuff: I think I'd have cropped a little off the left losing the red thing (chair?) - that would have allowed for a bigger canvas too.

Overall: Excellent and unusual - the best sort of image.

the lighting on this picture doesn't bring out the detail in the picture. It is a tad bit dark. Also the boy laughing to the side seems incongruous with the tone of the picture. Interesting shot. 5

I really like this but what i personally would like is to crop the boy out completely. The grinning kind of spoils the mood for me. Maybe make it a square crop on the left. It would be a stunning image then. Still, great image. 8.
