I personally thought that this is alittle on the lame side. A good shot doesn require words to explain a situation. Somemore I did not find the rider graceful at all.

Ahhh..."The Grace"...I see. Although I understand the point of the subject, I don't feel it it's all that interesting.

Some suggestions for improving the image:
1. Try shooting this at night or with more dramatic lighting.
2. This image looks like it was shot from a car or possibly from across the street. Try shooting from a different angle, maybe get down a bit lower and shoot down the sidewalk or up one of the poles.

I hope this helps,
Quadrajet

Nice concept, and a nice study in reds - but there's not enough contrast between his head and the tree; his head gets completely lost.

I like the detail of the buildings and how perfect it is that the awning has the word "grace" scrolled on it, but your focal point, the bicyclist, gets lost in the shadows, his head disappearing so completely he seems almost like the Headless Bicylcist. I know I have a bit of a problem with the darkness of my monitor but I think even on a better monitor he would still not stand out against those shadows as you may wish for him to be.

Looks a little odd with a featureless face/body and a bright white hat. I'd like to see what it would've looked like with the whole shadow, too. I like the well defined light/dark regions and how she crosses the line between them.

Nice contrast with the sun and shade. I like the perspective, but I wish the shot was zoomed out more, to give a better feeling of space and alone-ness. I like the lighting, helps add interest to the shot, gives a pseudo-silhouette appeal as well. I wish the focus was a little sharper on the walker. Nice image overall. 6

The idea is good, but alltogether a bit dark.
