Portrait of a broken door handleby GinaRothfelsComment by brianlh: haha - just came back for a look and i see the face! this would have been an interesting entry for the hidden faces challenge.. now i have a feeling i need to find a real 'found' face for my entry rather than something i arranged myself. |

Vaseby GinaRothfelsComment by brianlh: wish you had balanced it out slightly better (left is cropped out, but right is not). otherwise, good colors, dof and sharpness. |

Vaseby GinaRothfelsComment by e301: Myy first thought is 'which shot is this based on?' There have been so many shots of refractions through glass that it's difficult to retain them all in mind, I find. The bobbly bits down the edge ring a bell, vaguely, I think. Anyhow, good shooting - control of sharpness is i think the key to such a very graphic image, especially with such hard edges between black and white. |

-->the top of the handle is a bit blown out, but i'm not marking it down for that. |

Portrait of a broken door handleby GinaRothfelsComment by e301: Difficult to achieve I know, but there could be more sense of texture in the material of the door itself, no? Just to add that real edge of contrast to the metal of the handle? It has a feeling of a half-stop or so over-exposure, and that that has leeched away some of the tonality and finer detail in those textures. Nice work all the same. |
