I gave this an 8 and am surprised it did not finish much higher. Technically well composed, great exposure for the challenge, beautiful blue sky. I can only assume the majority of voters have never had the opportunity to behold the view of a majestic cactus, so they just did not appreciate the grandeur of your image. To bad for them, at least you and I just love it.

I like the idea though I'm not a fan of backsides. Not sure about the blown out grassy area either. However if you look at it through your peripheral vision long enough, the frames in the background start to dance. Or maybe that's the coffee.
