the plant (?) in the background is very distracting, and doesn't add to the message -- had the background been out-of-place (for example in front of a auto dealer) and conveying the message of WHERE the yellow pages will walk you to, it would support the message.

The image is overexposed, with the with a red tint. The product iteself is not visible, and the background is distracting.

It'd be much more challenge-worthy if the focus of the photo was the book. This has an artistic feel, whereas an advertising image would probably not.
