Lighting/flesh tones just don't seem to be appealing. Also the tip of the woman's nails just seem too bright, maybe if they had been painted red would make them stand out better as being 'different'

Interesting scrap of metal--has a quality of paper about it. Casual context seems appropriate. Thought it was the shadow on the left that bothered me about this but it seems to be the little light spot in the bottom left corner instead--go figure.

The shadow in the lower left is distracting, and the contrast seems a bit harsh between the bright piece of rust and the fairly dark ground. The blueish object in the top of the frame also distracts from the subject and would have been nice to crop out.
