house extensionby tomeComment by Jutilda: That graffiti seems so out of place doesn't it? This has an almost quaint long ago feel and then BAM, we get hit with the modern day. |

Double Archby tomeComment by Jedusi: Originally posted by MaryO: I think the reflections add a lot to the image here. I might play with either cropping more off the top or toning down the brightness there. |
I think Mary is quite right - there is a lot to like about this shot in terms of composition, colour and reflections - but the human eye does tend to get drawn to white / bright colours. That's fine is they are used to draw the viewer in, but what you don't want them to do is draw the viewer away from the main focal point of the image.
So in this you have the view through the arch competing with the bright leading edge to the bridge, if you were able to mute the brightness, then the eye would be drawn back through the arch to the lights beyond.
That said it is a lovely bridge and a still a nice shot :- ) |

have you heard about Jimmy...by tomeComment by ursula: Ducks converse? Anyway. To my eyes it is a bit too dark overall to really work, but that may be personal preference. I notice Judy really likes the deep dark. :) |
