I don't get "wasted" from this - I get the perplexing, frustrating, "why me?" teenage angst from this. While it may have been posed, it doesn't feel like it - feels like a stolen moment. Nice work with the light, too.

To the speed voter you'll prolly get a low or average vote, but if the person spends any time appreciating the textures, lighting, and shadows along with the crop and post processing,they'll realize that this is a very good image. I'm not usually a fan of centering the subject like you have, but with the environment they're in, it works well.
