Wow, take my breath away! That is just a spectacular the only thing I can see as an improvement is to try to get rid of the flare. I love haw the photo was framed and the reflaction off the ice/water.8.

excellent composition. love the clouds creating their own plane in the sky. the sun looks like a six pointed star, don't know if you used a filter but i like it. the frame adds to this image.

CRITIQUE CLUB!

Congratulations on a great shot and a great finish in the challenge. I didn't have time to vote this week, so this is the first time I've seen this photo.

I enjoy the subtle coloring and greatly enjoy the feeling of layers that the photo gives. The levels of the photo could be a bit more dramatic, perhaps, to make the non-misty trees in the front stand out even more (and maybe even give them more of a shot of color).

The chunky border was well-done, but the thin, grey, inner line is lost in the upper parts of the photograph -- it looks like it just kind of appears around the trees on the bottom and the left. Perhaps inverting the colors of the border? Not sure...but it's a wierd effect.

Also, what few vertical lines there are come from the trees in the foreground. However, they are kind of skewed to the right. Rotating the photo CCW so that the foreground tree trunks are true vertical might give more impact. I wonder if it would have been possible to capture even more of the trees in the foreground vertically?? I'm not sure how I feel about having them chopped off at the bottom of the frame.

Either way, a great photo, and a great idea for the challenge. Congrats on a top 10 finish!

This would have been very strong without the foreground rocks. They simply don't add to the photo....

beautiful composition... the sun star and the puffy clouds work very well here.. The layering effect of the land and water is also very impressive.. = 10 - setzler

Very pretty shot. Seems there's a small lens flare in the middle left area though. Overall though this shot is beautiful.
