Summer Lubberby rox_roxComment by digitalknight: 4"!!! That's not a grasshopper! Holy cow you got big bugs down there!
I actually lived in St. Pete for a while as a kid (6th grade) and remember monster cockroaches - never ran into a four inch grasshopper while I was there though!
BTW, stroke of genius to put that guy on a yellow posterboard - love that |

Square-a-diseby rox_roxComment by digitalknight: in reviewing my comments, I found a rather glib one I made for this photo - I think I owe you a decent comment.
I think this is a beautiful photo, love the whole feeling of warmth that comes from it.
How would I make it better? I would try pushing the saturation of the blues, and I would tweak the cyan over toward the blue side (+3 or so). I think I might crop it tighter. Right now it feels like a photo of a tree with a sunset in the background a little - maybe cropping more to the sun and leaving some of the dark dark shapes out would focus the image more on the sunset?
Of course this is just me talking off the top of my head. I would print this and display it proudly in my home or office if I were you, it's really nice work. |

Square-a-diseby rox_roxComment by Nald: Awesome sunset shot! How'd you get that without blowing out the sun? I'm guessing you have some serious ND filters? I like the silhouette of the palm tree here it really adds to the beauty of this shot. My only suggestion is that the foliage on the right side could be cropped out cloned out to create less of a distraction. Overall well done! |
