First of all, I'm on the verge of loving this shot...here's what's stopping me:

Slight angle of the shot, which is most noticeable at the top of the frame.
The crappy reflections on the left window.
The out of focus couple.
The man's face is cut off (are they the subject or aren't they?)
The awkward thing (sign?) behind the top of the lamp post. Could this have been cropped slightly higher?

The good news is, I think I love everything else about this shot (compositionally speaking). If this shot was retaken with the right mood/lighting and some of the above issues fixed, and if it were taken in a way so that the older couple were the subjects and it was assumed that beautiful car was theirs and they were on a date, it would get a 9.

Looks a little dark. Also, seems more like side-lit than back-lit.

I think it doesn't fit exactly the challenge, it's a side-lighting instead of a backlighting! However nice shot and good detail.

Need more space above the nose. Contrast is strange (low + low key) and no sharpness...

This photo just doesn't make me want to visit, or turn the page in the brochure. The car is cropped awkwardly, the colors are flat, the man at the table has only half a face and the subject is too much in the center of the picture. It looks very much like a quick snapshot without a lot of thought or planning.
No offense, not trying to be mean spirited.

Thank you. I appreciate the comment very much. I really like rich colors and I think I showed that here. ;)

I do prefer black and white and almost changed it but I saw the colors and changed my mind.
