NATURE'S GLORYby DustyComment by Jason_Cross: I would have liked this even more if you maybe were able to cut the shading in the center of the flower by using a light or something. Also I am not super sure that bokeh is just dof. I don't see the circles of light. Very pretty though. |

BLACK n BLUE!by DustyComment by bluenova: Hi Dusty,
Sorry I didn't comment before, I gave it a 4, but I wasn't sure how I could really be of assistance to make this photo better.
IMO The composition isn't great. It's a nice angle from low down, as it makes the statue look very bold, but the background is kind of distracting, with the line on the left and the fact that because it's Duotone the statue doesn't stand out from the background which I think is necessary to make this picture work. Perhaps this would have done better in a different challenge because of that. I also think the contrast could be increased a little. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, I am just a beginner too. |

BLACK n BLUE!by DustyComment by MacDonald: Interesting statue - what strikes me is what appears to be a lion or tiger claw as if he sat on the lion! Nice choice of a duotone |

THAT'S RIGHT, THE BUCK STOPS HERE!by DustyComment by loseme: *Critique Club*
" THAT'S RIGHT, THE BUCK STOPS HERE!" is a good Wildlife shot. I am really glad to see a real Wildlife shot as opposed to the tons of zoo shots. I love how natural shot is. Its like watching a nature show and you can hear the quite voice in the background saying "through the trees we spot a buck in its natural habit". The only things I would try is to tighten the crop on the left just a little so that you don't have such a bright white spot on the bottom left corner. Also the ear seems a little bright. I don't know if it over blown or the contrast to bring out the tree is just a little much. The trees are so amazing to show the natural environment. I really am suprised I did not see this shot place higher, it really is a differnt from the rest and stands out. |
